    Default Lettering on Quilt?

Has anyone ever used Iron On letters on a quilt? I'm making my grandson an Arkansas Razorback quilt and need to put on something like "Arkansas Razorbacks" or Go Hogs!"

I'm cutting the actual razorback for the center out of a terry cloth beach towel. Any ideas at all?

    Thanks,
    Illine

Katie! Thank you so much for sharing that tutorial! Now I know how to do it. I'm not too sure about my zig-zag or satin stiching capabilities tho. But, I'm going to give it my best shot!

I have never used iron on letters...just appliqued letters. Barb

    Illine,
I have always found that anything that is likely to be used a lot or laundered a lot does NOT hold up with iron on letters. I suggest you reinforce them by applique.

I've only used applique lettering. I agree with Carol_Ann that the iron-on lettering is apt to come off with a lot of laundering.

I have used the iron-on letters before and they do come off when laundered sometimes the first time it goes through the washer. If you use them I would highly recommend stitching around the edge.
