Okay... I need opinions...
I need to make a quilt in a hurry... I have two Charm packs...
I am thinking I could do a BIG IRISH Chain... or make four patch blocks alternating with cream fabric squares the same size.
Have you done either? Do you think it will look alright? I like big blocks, fast results, but not sure about this being TOO simple.
Hit me...

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Hmm...would it be too much work to make them all into HSTs (two per charm) with the cream fabric? That way you have lots of layouts to choose from!
Or simpler: Cut the cream into charms as well, than sew them together charm - cream - charm - cream etc., but start each row with the alternating fabric (once cream, then charm). That way you get a kind of "Falling charms" design.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
That would be a big Irish chain. Your squares to go with the 9 patch would have to be 13.5". That sure would make 2 charm packs go a long way, but do you have enough solid to do it?

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Another option... Sashed four patch. Hmmm?

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Had some more ideas:
- Rectangle 4 patch
- A variation on a chevron
- or you go modern and make a top with one coloured strip with randomly cut and pieced charms down one third in
- sew them into granny squares
- D9P/D4P/DD4P
Oops, I'm on a roll now...:D

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
I think I am going to order another of the charm pack, and my yardage to do the Quilt in the tutorial Snowballed 4 patch... and since I am in a hurry... A trip to the shop is in order! Woot!
Anyone else want to go tomorrow?

Re: Okay... I need opinions...

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
If you plan to do this quilt in a hurry, I would not recommend snowballing corners. I found the process very tedious when I made the Sashed Flower Garden quilt. I vote for a D9P. Or even a 4-patch mixed with solids. JCY

What about X's and O's? That one is on my list.
Or stacked coins? I have done that one using charms instead of jelly rolls (Iron quilter contest quilt). :)

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
You are on your own . . . I've been to Missouri Star three times this month and I have company coming next week.
BESIDES, I don't need you to make me a quilt, even though you did promise . . . But, if you insist, I love the one Lorie posted!!!

Good to know. Thanks!

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
I you don't mind cutting the charms in half the zipper quilt goes together really fast! Instead of cutting the 2 1/2 inch squares out I just chain pieced them on to a jellyroll strip then cut them apart. Using 2 charm packs would make a pretty good size quilt.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Oops sorry! Forgot you said big blocks. lol

I was just watching that video. It limits my cream yardage to just corners. I'm trying to us it to add to the size of the quilt with the two charm packs. Although I believe I am going to need 3 regardless of the pattern I choose.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
I just checked my 3 issues of BLOCK, & it's not in any of them. JCY

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
If you look in my album entitled quilts on the second page last quilt is a basic four patch with a plain square next to it. Makes a nice looking quilt that works up really fast!

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Silly Geese works up fast and two charm packs wold make a nice size, but I missed what size you need it to be.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
Oh, I love this! Is there a pattern or tutorial?

Yes, that is what I was talking about... something like that. And after reading the picture comments, I can hardly go wrong with that one... Blondie said she "really, really, really, really REALLY" likes that one.
Can you get more validated than that?? LOL.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...

I have Chrome, where is the extension? That seems pretty nifty.

Re: Okay... I need opinions...
On the right hand side of the address bar use the 3 bar link to get to the menu for Chrome and then go to tools and Extensions. Then click the link for get extensions. Can search, etc. The one I installed is named "Search by Image (by Google)".
Another one I like is the Pinterest one - I can easily pin while searching, especially for sites that might not have a Pin It link :)
