A friend of mine is getting rid of her Baby Lock Ellegante 2 (sewing and embroidery) machine. She told me to "name my price." I know that the Ellegante 3 is out. Does anyone have one or know anything about this sewing machine? Thanks.

I have the first one and there isn't really many hours on it. I'm not sure what was added to the second or third except for more built in designs. Maybe some some more things you can do on the screen. Sorry not much help, but I love my Babylock!

Why don't you ask her how much she paid for it at the time, how old it is, how much she used it, if and when she had it serviced, etc.
That way you'd probably could make a fairer offer.
I don't know about the price, but you are a lucky dog. I would love to have that machine, I do love my Babylock Allure Plus, but boy the Ellegante is one heck of a machine. You can call a Babylock dealer and they would give you a real good ballpark to go by. If there is not one near you I can always call my dealer and ask for you.

M*QC forum is full of the best people!
I'm not just buying fabric, I am supporting the economy...
A bad day in the sewing room is better than a good day at the office.
Maybe you could ask a dealer what they would give you for in on a trade-in, and that would give you an idea as well.

Does anyone know when the first kelly blue book for sewing machines will be coming out? there shouls be such a thing since some machines are almost as expensive as a used car.

There's a lady on ebay selling her "slightly used" Baby Lock Ellegante 2. Starting bid at $3,200.00

There is a stitch count on every Babylock Ellegante 2. The manual tells exactly how to access the count. This would give you an idea of how much it has been used. My machine has about 4 million stitches on it. I know that sounds like alot but many owners have 20 or 30 million stitches on theirs. I LOVE my Ellegante 2. I have owned a top of the line Bernina, Janome, and Elna but my Babylock Ellegante 2 is hands down the best machine I have ever owned and I love to FMQ on it. The Ellegante 2 has a whole pouch of quilting accessories in addition to all the hoops for embroidery etc. I hope mine never wears out!!!! I actually went to my sewing machine dealer to look at a Janome. He knows me well as I used to sell machines for him. He told me that I wouldn't like the top of the line Janome at the time. I think it was the 11,000. Anyway, he knew how picky I am about a machine and what my expectations are and directed me to the Ellegante 2. Love, love, love it.
