I'm trying to think of a design for the shop from your stash group. I have a magizene that has a template and you make a cardstock template. Then you iron The edges over it, and sew by machine. Then online there is paper pieced directions and you sew by hand like a hexi.

Any experience with this pattern? I thought it would be cute in all the kids prints I have.

This is interesting the link shows the machine way sewing the curve together in sections. My mag has it in whole pieces and sewn to a strip of fabric. .

I have never done that, but love the pattern. I'd opt for the cardboard template (I think) and make sure the clams were huge . . .
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I'd rather have scallops than clams

Me, too. Seared off in a little butter and EVOO, then deglazed with a little vermouth...
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Yum, I have some in the freezer.

The template ends up being 10'' across, might get that down to 8 . So I guess I'll make a template from a comic card (fabric folded in half) a second full size in template plastic because lot's of starch is suggested.

I found the fabrics in the mag..

Latifah Saafir has two free patterns on Craftsy called The Glam Clam Quilt. One is 8" and one is 12". She has templates. Uses machine piecing without pins!! Yes!! And it works beautifully. I have her patterns but haven't yet felt I have the skill to move to this kind of pattern. I am just starting my first curved piecing quilt, so I have some skill development to do on practice fabric.

Latifah also has an outstanding tutorial on YouTube of the method to sew her clams. Ifound this very helpful, and I strongly encourage you to watch this and consider using her technique. It makes a lot of sense to me. Similarities to how Jenny sews the Drunkard's Path units on her tutorial.
