Matching white?
I'm using Cuzco from Kate Spain and need a white to match. It's definitely not going to be an optic white. I'm looking for charm packs in a kind of mellow, maybe all-purpose white. Should I go with Kona Snow? Or is that really on the creamy side? Any suggestions would be so helpful, since I have to order online. (I have the Cuzco packs, but I can't really see to match the white!) Thanks!

Check out this article for a variety of solids that will go with the Cuzco line. I'm thinking of getting this myself, but haven't pressed the button yet! This blog has a regular feature recommending solids that go with a new line they are carrying, as does Hawthorne Threads. Very helpful feature.

United Notions advert page has Bella Solids recommendations too: http://www.unitednotions.com/fcc_cuzco.pdf
Pink Chalk recommends Free Spirit Artic White. I would be very cautious about using Kona Snow with this line. It has a yellow tone to it. I would think the Bella Bleached White would be a better choice for this cool colored line. JMO.
Hope this helps!

You are welcome! They carry a lot of modern fabrics and interesting sewing patterns for garments. Actually garment sewing is how I found them. Their blog posts are very helpful.

Gosh! I love that quilt pattern! Just think - it would make an interesting jelly roll race quilt! I have a black and white jelly roll plus a Bella Solid red jelly roll - Hmm!

Re: Matching white?
Thank you so much, Midge! I'm new to quilting, so this is not a problem I've dealt with yet. Definitely looking for precut charm pack, so matching at my local (VERY small) fabric shop is out.
Your recommendations were very helpful!

If you're buying from MSQC, call them. They will help you match the right color.

Re: Matching white?
Hi Sharyn, and thanks for your reply. Until I read your post I was torn between Kona Snow (NOT Moda) and Bella Solid White. However since you have worked with Cuzco and white, can your tell me: Did you feel the Kona white solid was an adequate match for the white in the fabrics? (There does seem to be a lot of charms with major white background, and it would be a disaster to not match carefully!) The whites in the fabric are somewhat dull.
By the way, your quilt is gorgeous! I am planning to use the "Diamond Rings" pattern from Olive Tree (Fat Quarter Shop)...Similar!! I LOVE the Cuzco fabrics...So glad I could find some before they were all gone!
Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
Best,
Janet
