    Default Prairie Points ??

I'm just doing my own thing and putting some prairie points on the inside narrow border. Then, I'll add the outside border. What do I do at the corner? Does the tip (outside edge) of the prairie point need to be lined up with the edge of the corner, or should it extend a bit? (Like little dog ears poking up at the corners.) I hate to get all these little buggars attached and then have to rip.

    Advice? Thanks!

Hi Sharyn. I've never put prarie points on the inside border so I'm not sure of the answer. When I've done it on the outside edge of the quilt I arrange the points to meet at the corners so I would imagine the inside border would follow the same way. I'd love to see how it turns out.

Here's an image I've kept in the 'to do' file. Looks like they've avoided the corners altogether.

Here is a blog post on how to do prairie points. One tip is to line up the prairie points so that they end nicely at the corner, even if it means fudging the points before the end if necessary.

If you haven't cut out your prairie point fabric yet, here is a tutorial on how to sew continuous prairie points.

Please post pictures when you're done!

Thanks everyone. The visual is what I needed. I'm doing this as SewUK did in her pic.
Kerry, the continuous prairie points tut is really nice. I'll have to try this next time. I had to fudge a bit at the corners, but hopefully it will look ok when I'm finished.

Now, wouldn't you know......I ran out of Kona White to finish my borders! Who the heck runs out of white fabric!!!! Taking a quick trip to Hobby Lobby here in town.
