    Default border or not?

got the top together. It is 52x64 now and just wanted a large throw, so don't need it much bigger. Wondering if a 2" border of the blue would make it look more finished. Only have the blue and orange left, and 6" of the Auburn fabric. Wanted to bind in the Auburn, but that's not going to happen.

I would just bind it in the blue (I thought it was black). Is that the Warm Wishes pattern?

I'ts really cool looking. Who is it for?

I think a blue border would frame it nicely.

Yes it is the warm wishes. wanted something fast and easy that would showcase the Auburn fabric. This is my first Christmas gift for 2014. made for DS's GF.

I would bind it in the blue too. What about binding in either the orange or white, since you don't have enough of the Auburn fabric?

    Great looking quilt!

I wouldn't add a border, as the blocks don't look finished on the edges anyway.

ok, probably a 2" border of blue. now thinking about my binding in blue, orange, auburn, blue orange, auburn, etc, or is that too much. I think I can get 3 strips from the Auburn fabric. Mixed with the others will be enough. That would look best against the solid border.

I think a border would look nice. You could border with orange and bind with blue or vice versa. Or border with white and bind with blue?? Try some layouts and take pics. It's usually helpful to me to look at pics.
A pieced border would work but the Auburn fabric won't show much. What are you doing on the back? Maybe you could use that strip there?

tried to make them look finished, but that only worked on the top and right side.

I am a huge fan of borders, but I think I would forgo a one on yours and just bind it with blue.
