Default Help! How should machine quilt?

I have a top quilt that is Dresden plate flowers with stems on a dark gray Kona fabric. The back is also from the same dark gray Kona with the scraps from the flowers made into 3 blocks of the disappearing nine patch. My question is How should I quilt this on my home sewing machine? I would like to go around the flowers and stems with a fancy "hand quilting" look. Help????? Any suggestions?

You could try a scrap piece and see how you like it. If your machine has "quilt" stitches built-in, select one and see how it works. I would use a blanet stitch type which is somewhat traditional for an applique look. Remember, it is your quilt and you can do whatever you like. In a hundred years someone will appreciate your wonderful "antique" quilt

Assuming you already have the plates and stems appliqued on...I would stitch in the ditch or echo around the plates (petals) and stems and blocks.
Then maybe do a small pattern in the center of each plate. Maybe use a variegated thread if your really multi-colored.
    Ah, what fun decisions!
WHEN THE STITCHES ARE PERFECT....THAT'S GOD'S WORK
