Cant decide

Hey, new to quilting, and I just bought the Pastel Pop Citron. Want to make a Disappearing Nine Patch but cant decide what the best center color should be. I am using charm packs because I am not, as in very bad, very good at cutting alot of blocks. Please, make suggestion as I am going bonkers trying to figure it all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Since you want a solid charm pack, I would suggest either a dark grey, black or white. I would lean towards white or black, since there are a lot of greys in the line - I think grey could blend too much and it sounds like you want a pop in the middle. :)

When I made mine, it was a mixed up. Used nine prints and just mixed it all up. Photo is in my albums under tops to be quilted, I think. It's the brown and blue one.

I was leaning toward a white. What do you think of the canvas white

I would also do black, if all my centers were going to be identical.

If you are using the Pastel Pop Citron charm in the four corners, I recommend using white in between and the one square in the center should be a dark color like charcoal or black. This center square will get cut up in fourths and a darker color will really make the quilt bright. Happy Quilting and do share the finished blocks/quilt top with us :-)

Attachment 81482Here's a pic of the d9p I made for my hubby. I used white in the outside center spots. Gave it kind of a falling charm or sashed look. You can see the small squares were the center block.

I would do black too. When I did mine I picked the darkest color. It came out like little pops all over.

I also have this collection (LOVE it). I would recommend getting a solid charm pack. A gray color would really make the yellows pop but would also hold up against the darker colors of the collection.
If you want to stick with just whats in the collection I would recommend

dark yellow dark
yellow dark yellow
dark yellow dark

or vice versa.... (if ^ made any sense lol)
