Thanks everyone.....I think I figured it out and have it started. It really wasn't that hard, but as I said I am challenged by "puzzles":icon_wave:

Oh too funny, I took a class at the shop in Aiken a few yrs ago too! The project was a square quilt made from a pattern out of a book for patterns for baby quilts. Squares with alternating four patches, an inner border & outer border. I just got back from Augusta and purchased some fabric at Branum's and Jeff's Sewing & Vacuum. Jeff's doesn't a huge amount of fabric, but what they have is great. They are good Christian people who own & run the store. Have you ever been to Creative Sewing Machine Center in Columbia??? They have over 4000 bolts of fabric! :-) I love to be able to see the fabric in person and feel it. But I have done my share of damage by buying from M* too.
For me, when I did the friendship braid with the binding tool, I found it easiest to keep sewing them all together into one huge long braid. Then I cut it into equal lengths for my quilt. Good luck, I really like this pattern.
thanks for all the feedback , but I really need help on what to put in the middle of the quilt and use the braids as a border
