These are all great suggestions. If you want to do a bigger project, use a layer cake. You'll get 40 pieces, each measuring 10" x 10". Just lay them out on your dining table or a bed, either five across by eight down, or however big you want it to be. (Just remember that the finished quilt will be somewhat smaller, because of the seam allowances. So five pieces across will be 5 x 10" = 50", minus two inches of seam allowance = 48" across.) Then stitch one row together at a time until you have eight rows. Then sew those eight rows together, and voila! Quilt top done. You can add borders if you like, but that is up to you.
