Are you using layer cake squares to make your blocks? I would think they would end up being the same size finished block as the other disappearing pinwheel blocks, churn dash and shoo-fly. This measurement is 11-3/4" or 11-1/4" finished. Each block takes 2 layer cake squares to make. So depending on what your finished size you want, figure out how many blocks you need to make. To me, making it 7 or 8 blocks across and 8 to 10 blocks down would make a generous queen. So you would need anywhere from 56 completed blocks to 80 blocks, which would be two layer cake packs of print and 2 white.
7 blocks across by 8 rows. 78-3/4" by 90". 56 squares print and 56 white
8 by 8. 90" square 64 squares of print and 64 white
8 blocks across by 9 rows down. 90" by 101-1/4" 72 squares print and 72 white
8 by 10. 90" across by 112-1/4". 80 squares print and 80 white

Thank you, Jean. I had counted it a few times but I wanted to be sure. I'm glad I asked. I need more fabric. LoL
Jean, you da woman.![]()
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!
What color scheme are you thinking of?
To save some money, you might want to cut yardage for your solid color.
I think this would look real pretty as a controlled scrapy quilt.

I'm doing it with parchment and blues. Ordered Heardy good wishes by Moda.
