What if you woke up today and the only things you had were the things you thanked God for yesterday?quilting trish
Someone is not very appreciative of your efforts. I thought a gift was to be accepted with a heartfelt Thank You!....not given back and told this was not what I want.....do something with it to make it what I want. That being said....Once had someone give me two twin size (imported/cheaply made) quilts that were quite worn...as in ready for the dumpster and asked if I could use the good parts and make a twin size/throw size out of them. Out of the goodness of my heart I made her 2 new throw size quilts and threw the worn out one away. I would just make a bigger quilt out of new material. The time and effort you will put into this project will not be worth it...and probably won't satisfy the MOM either.
I think Pattylou is somewhat like my Li'l Sis. If someone handed her something and asked for it to be fixed, mended, or redesigned she'd gracefully accept it and it would wind up in a landfill or something . . . (I know, because I once asked her to replace some elastic in a dress that I absolutely loved . . . )
Did it upset me? No way, Jose! I know exactly where she was coming from.
Now I'm off to find some gorilla glue and duct tape . . .
Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
1. Use sashing to attach them in the middle and the same sashings along all four sides, then bind.
2. Leave them as is and have one for the child to use in the car and one for emergency use in the trunk
3. have one for her to play on the floor with her dolls and put one "away" for her to save for her child
4. Use one as a "eating mat". kids like to eat in front of the tv so...eat on the quilt and no crumbs on the floor
5. Use them as "picnic" or "outdoor" quilts..nice to sit on a quilt instead of the dirt or grass while eating or playing
6. Let her play with them and use them as doll quilts for her dolls.
7. Keep one and give the other to her best friend...for sleep over nights!
8. Perfect size for her or anyone to just toss over legs while watching TV in the cold winter months.
9. Make a wall hanging out of at least one of them
10. Use the other as a cove on a sofa..like over the arm where everyone sits or leans or just to cover the sofa for protection against spills or lot of sitting use!
Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. The colors on these quilts are cream and more cream and some silver. She paid me for these, they weren't gifted. She is very bling-y and a germaphobe. She would never put them on the floor. The kid probably won't even be sleeping under it.
I may just sash it or just glue it. Gorilla glue sounds great! Thanks all. I'll try to find some photos I took.

If it were me, I'd make a new quilt. One can never have too many! You could even make another JRR so it's like a larger version for the bed and the others for road trips or carrying around the house![]()
"Only God is perfect, my quilts don't have to be!"
I'd just join them together using the quilt as you go method. I'm a beginner quilter and as i am scared of quilting a full quilt on my machine Ive used that method for 2 queen size quilts with no problem. You would have to remove the binding first and then reattache it to the ( trimmed if slightly different sizes) new quilt
