Yes, you mean without the little flange for your fabric to follow?
I'm not sure what you are looking for. What you are trying to accomplish?
I can't find my walking foot and the 1/4 foot wanders on the edge if there is batting in the layers. I was thinking if there was a wider width on the side it would be more stable and not wander so much. I was just curious :)
My regular foot for my little Brother is exactly as you describe. It works well. You've been running up and down between rooms too much, how do you lose a walking foot? ;)

You'd have to know Lorie well to know how Lorie could lose something . . . Now, to her question - remind me what machine you have so I can totally do research . . .
I could easily lose any small object in my sewing AKA dining room!
Awww, love it when you give me raspberries!!!
Now, if you have time, why don't you run over and help me find my pattern for the Home is Where the Haunt is???????
Doesn't the Rose have left and right needle positions? Move the needle in the appropriate direction and use a foot that covers the all the feed dogs.
I would love too! Here is another rasberry:icon_bah:
I didn't have any use for that feature before, so I'm not really sure.
I found a foot that will work. I'm wondering how much it is? This machine is old but I still love her.

What's really funny is that though you can move the position of the needle, most of the 1/4 inch feet have a single hole - so you will stitch through the foot if you move it (ask me how I know this????)
Thanks Wendy. I'm sure it will show up. I have an interesting story about losing things. When my mom passed and I went back to her house to take care of things I looked high and low for a mexican five dollar gold necklace that she bought me for a gift. She smuggled it in. It was in a paper bag in the garage. It was one of those what the heck moments.
Thanks Sandy that's good to know.
I'm going to search more in the morning. I'm taking a beer break. :icon_giggle:
If you move the needle on a machine, you use the regular foot, not the 1/4" The regular foot for any machine usually covers all of the feed dogs so you get more traction on what you are sewing. I had a Rose, and did move the needle for certain applications.
I did some mini quilts years ago with a Pfaff 1475. That uses a 9mm foot, and to get a 1/8" seam (required) I had to mark and switch the needle position to get it using a 9mm foot. If I didn't, there wouldn't have been enough material to use the feed dogs properly.
I will also use an open toe foot on the PQ1500 so I can see where I'm going, rather than a STID foot.
