I have just finished two table toppers where I machine stitched the borders on. On both, parts of the borders are wavy. This has not happened on the quilts where I hand stitched the borders. Does anyone know what I did wrong? Thanks.

Some say to always stitch with the borders on top so they don't get stretched. Maybe you sewed with them on the underside where the feed dogs can take in more and stretch the fabric.

How did you measure the borders?
I start with the side borders. I cut the borders a little bit longer than needed. I lay them down the center of the quilt top and trim them even. Then I fold the border fabric in half to find the center. I pin the center of the border to the center of the quilt (edge) then I pin the ends. And then evenly space out the fabric. I sew them together with the border fabric on top. I do this to both sides. Then I press.
I cut the top and bottom borders a little bit longer than necessary a lay them on top of the quilt horizontally through the middle. Repeating the process above.

Oops! I meant to say wavy edges - which I think might be because of my binding, not border. The whole thing is a mess! haha
Can you post a picture?
Sometimes, if you make bias binding and you tug too much it will stretch it out of shape.
Or it could be there isn't enough fullness on the edges and it makes your binding look warped. You know, when the batting does not go all the way to the edge? Then you bind it and in some places it's fuller than others?
