Default Long arm quilting with Flannel

    Hi,

You all have been so helpful to me, but I have come up with a struggle. I am quilting a " prayer Shawl" on my longarm. The front is pieced and the backing is flannel. The quilting on the top is doing great. The backing however looks funny. Not like the tension is off but like the quilting is pulling strands of the raw edge through the flannel backing. Do you think it will relax when it is off the machine and washed? Or do you have any ideas on what i can do or what is going on? Thanks for all the help you provide. ( Ps. i wanted it to be thin so there is no batting ).

I have long armed flannel and had bits of batting poke through. It is a looser weave than cotton. It will probably just wash out fine.

I don't have a long arm, but I use a lot of flannel. If my needle isn't really sharp, thread from the flannel sometimes looks like it is pushing through.
