Curvy quilting with walking foot ?
Some time ago I happened upon a Youtube video of quilting wavy or curvy lines with a walking foot. Dont remember what the actual term is or who did the video. Can anyone help with this ?

That's what I did on this quilt.

Exactly what I wanted. So are there any tricks or do you just move the sandwich as you sew.

I just moved it as I went along. It really was pretty fun to quilt that way. I did narrower lines across the colored part, just to add a different texture. That quilt turned out super soft even though there was more quilting on it than I normally do.

If you go to Bijou Lovely , she does a terrific tutorial on wavy line quilting. It is under tutorials, the ninth one down.

I also use a serpentine stitch (looks like an S) with my walking foot to get curves when I quilt.

Re: Curvy quilting with walking foot ?
A tip I learned from Jacquie Gering's class on Craftsy called Creative Quilting with Your Walking Foot may help you get started. She recommends placing a length of blue painter's tape down the length of the quilt where you intend to start quilting. Place another length of painter's tape a distance away from the first one. This is to prevent you from veering off vertical ever so slightly, which tends to accumulate as you work your way out from the center. You can judge your lines much better that way by eyeballing them, or even measuring if you want.

There is a wonderful class on Craftsy called Creative Quilting With Your Walking Foot. You might look into it. I learned so much that I think I'll wait to learn FMQ for a while. She teaches several different ways to quilt and is an excellent instructor. Check it out!
