    Default Border Help

Does anyone know how to make the border on the below mentioned quilt?

    http://blog.missouriquiltco.com/wp-c...uble-Slice.jpg

I am a newbie so not quite sure how to go about it.

I looked on the tutorial for the double slice layer cake as that is the border on it also.

    Thanks in advance!

It looks like 4 borders, a narrow one in white, then a narrow pieced one then another not quite as narrow white one and then the floral one. I am not sure how to tell you how to do the corners but it looks like cornerstones with the narrow pieced border on two sides.
I hope I remembered it correctly, I didn't refer back to the picture.
I sure do like the scrappy look of it.

I agree with Claire. There are cornerstones at the corners of the 3rd border, with colored strips being part of the cornerstones. What a clever border - I'll keep it in mind for a future quilt.

Hmm, I would add the inner white border on all four sides as always. Then sew together the scrappy small border to a wider white strip and add it to the sides. Then add the scrappy border to the full width at the top and bottom.
Cut 4 white squares with sides the width of the wider white border you added with the scrappy border to the sides. Sew a coloured strip to one side of each square.
Now measure the inside length where the scrappy borders meet. Cut two white strips the width of the wider white side border/the squares and this measured length. Add two corner squares to the ends of each strip, coloured strip pointing towards the long white strip.
Add these to the top and bottom of your quilt.
Finally, add the fourth (here floral) border as you normally would.
