Re: Question about a Quilt Label...advice please?
I use the finest sharpie I can find on unbleached muslin. I don't wash it first. Colored sharpies do run a little more. I prep my fabric to write on by ironing it onto freezer paper first (huge roll at Superstore is $5). It isn't perfect, but I really like it. I also heat set the writing with my hot iron after I'm done (before I stitch it onto the quilt).
Sme photos refuse to upload, but the ones in my photo stream (I have an iPhone) upload perfectly!

Well it appears my iPhone hates me! LOL!
THANK YOU for that info...I would NEVER have thought to do this. I don't have any muslin...won't white cotton work? And is Freezer paper the same as waxed paper?
Re: Question about a Quilt Label...advice please?
LOL my iPhone hates me all too often as well!
I use the $10 two or three yard bundle of unbleached muslin from Walmart. I have used white cotton but it runs a little more than the muslin. Test it and see how it does. I'm sure it would be totally acceptable for results - mine was.
Freezer paper has wax on only one side. It's quite a bit heavier than the regular wax paper and worth the purchase. Check the dollar store! Seriously my roll of freezer paper will last me for life. Lol. DONT buy at the LQS - it's the same brand, twice the price and a fraction of the amount on the roll.

That seemed like a lot to go on a label, so just for grins, I set it up in my embroidery software. It fits in a standard 5X7 hoop. Not sure how it would stitch, because many of those letters are going to be smallish. But, for what it's worth, here's a mock-up of it. Not bad, really. Still seems a little wordy to me, but you're the artist! Attachment 80044

I thought "pleased as lunch" was a Canadian thing. I like it!
