45x54 is what I try to aim for. It's big enough to be used on a toddler bed later on.
oh gosh I am way off mine is 29x45. that is a lot smaller I guess I may have to start over. Thanks for your help bakermom!!
Don't be too quilt to start over! Remember you can always add borders or extra columns or rows.
My babies have all grown up now, but I remember thinking that I'd love to have a smaller, but warm blanket to throw over my son when I was carrying him in or out of a store or house. It seemed that all his blankets were so big that I felt like I was carrying more blanket than baby.
My opinion? I'd give her the one you already have made, it will be the perfect size to throw over the car seat/carrier to keep baby warm, but not so large and bulky that its dragging the ground or adding extra weight.

As ye sew, so shall ye rip.
Wow, Thanks, I never thought of it that way before but you are right and my small quilt will be just right for that. I feel so much better now. It really is a pretty little quilt.
Oh don't change what you've started. As mrswindy said, smaller ones are handy to throw over baby in between house and car etc. There really isn't a wrong size.
A small border and then a bigger one would increase the size of your quilt. Don't start over.

Approximately 45X54...I like baby blankets to cover most of the crib mattress - be large enough for baby to play on it in a few months and also be large enough to be used in a child seat in the car. Of course it's personal preference....that's just my two cents...Barb
I'd like the think keep it as wide (or long) as the wof for back, I really don't like to have to piece a back if I can get by with it. Of course if you piece a special back for it, it can be any width. Just my thoughts.
