I hadn't tried it but I did yesterday and one side of the batting puckered.... not sure why as I held them both flat as they were sewn. I always use spray adhesive when I make my fabric sandwich so I just sprayed the batting and butted the two pieces together, then quilted. Hope it turns out okay after it's washed.
