Get familiar with these sites: http://www.unitednotions.com/un_main.nsf/main?openpage
http://www.unitednotions.com/un_main.nsf/tutorials SORRY, THIS LINK IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
http://www.unitednotions.com/measurements-bedding.pdf .pdf of the chart you need.
There are charts that give sizes and lots of fun things here.
Re: CALCULATING FABRIC FOR PRE-CUTS-"HOW TO"
Jelly Rolls - 2.78 yards
Layer Cake - 3.05 yards (this gives a couple "extra" 10" blocks)
Charm Pack - .85 yards (you'll get a few extra 5" squares in that last strip)
Turnovers - 1.2 yards
Honey Buns - 1.75 yards
This is all my own math, but should be right. :)

My thought exactly, Katherine! Summer, you just got added to my mental list of experts :-).
Re: CALCULATING FABRIC FOR PRE-CUTS-"HOW TO"
My pleasure...feel free to ask me anytime. :) I get a kick out of it. I rarely use patterns because I like to figure it all out myself. Am I a Quilt Geek? Quite possibly.
Re: CALCULATING FABRIC FOR PRE-CUTS-"HOW TO"
Hi ~Summer~
Well guess what?
While preping up the fabric cuts for my Pinwheels (using 5x5 squares).
I found out (after going Edward Scissorhands on the Stashes I had)
that 1 Yard of fabric NO MATTER how I cut it and folded it.
i kept getting a total of "56" 5x5 Blocks... and the few pieces that were left, gave me a couple of 3 ' or 4' strips.
That was Fun!!
I made quite a few nice CHARM PACK BUNDLES for Future Use (that's, near Future :D) and extra strips for
Oohh let's say a few Scrappy Blocks.
and are you ready for this... the thin 1/4 inch piece I removed when squaring the fabric...
I used them to tie the Charm Pack bundles Ooowwwee...They LOOK Sew Cute!! ~No Waist Here!~ :icon_tup:
Yes, I'm keeping a little journal and when I'm done trying this out I'll post here for reference.:)
Ohhh.. P.S. It went Pretty Quick wth the June Tailor Shape Cut Ruler. Posted PICS in my ALBUM
