Ladies at my guild said to use Elmers School Glue - it is washable.

I couldn't figure out what glue she was using and tried doing a search online. Didn't find a bottle that looked like hers. So I did a little searching on another forum and found that ladies are using elmers school glue! So I'm wondering if any water soluble glue will work?
