Default How many yards of fabric do I need?

I am wanting to make a flannel quilt with the ten minute block method. I want at least a queen size if not bigger. I plan on using 4 different colors so my question is.. How many yards of fabric should I buy of each color to make a quilt of this size?My finished blocks should be about 16".(5 0f the 8" blocks) Is this clear as muddy water???Thanks in advance.

When I first saw your thread title my thought was: As many as you can get your hands on!

I don't know what the 10 minute block is, so until I do some research, I can't help much! Good luck, I'm sure one of the others will know for sure.

You should get 20 8" blocks from one yard(5 WOF, 4 LOF)

If a queen size is approx.90x106 you would have 6(act.96) blocks across, 7 (actually 112")based on your 16" block. When all else fails, i draw it out on graph paper.

I always buy more than they tell me. I figure "what if I make a mistake in piecing the block?" The excess goes into my fabric stash.
    Gee...I wasn't much help. Sorry.

No you are right. It is always better to have to much as apposed to to little.Knowing me I will mess something up for sure. Extra fabric will be on hand for sure! Thanks Susan.

Thank you Bakermom. This does help me. I like the idea of the graph paper. I think I have some too.
