I think that borders would work great to add to the size of the quilt. It looks great to me. I've gotten my blocks sewn but not cut yet for mine (one of several projects that are in one stage or another), I figure after I cut and start moving blocks, I'd better have the magazine close by and the video.
Your quilt turned out lovely, even if you do think there are mistakes, I don't think it's obvious. I'd just say it's a new variation of the pattern.
A group of us just finished a swap of DP4 using solid black & our choose of batiks. They turned out beautifully.

I love your quilt and I think your border idea would look fine. I found this pattern to be a bit tedious but I love the finished product. You did a great job....I don't see anything wrong.
I think it would look fine with the borders and I don't see any mistakes in what you have done. Would love to see a photo of the finished quilt.
Snippet, I was in the block exchange mentioned above and like the pattern a lot. Don't be scared away. Maybe two colors (we used black and batik) makes it easier to flip.
One note though: I was in the block exchange and cut all my squares for those 12 blocks. While I waited to get blocks sent back, I ordered a black charm pack thinking it would make it quicker. Maybe because I cut the batiks and used the black charms for the other, these blocks seem harder to get accurate than my first group. I'm not sure I'm saving time. It's my first time using charms and there must be an easier way to deal with the pinked edges that make them a little off.
This was the first block I learned.
I had gone into the sewing shop in town after unsuccessfully looking for the only quilting shop in town. I was asking about where the quilt shop was because I had finally decided it was time to learn and this very nice woman who happened to be making that block took the time to show me. She helped me pick out some fabrics and explained everything then sat me down at one of the machines there in the store and let me sew up a couple. It was a very pleasant experience for my introduction to quilting. :icon_happy:
Speaking of which, I should make time to stop in there and say hello again. Very nice ladies.
I was going to ask what you were going to back it with, but I see you posted again to say it was the green.
While I like the white which I'm sure looks wonderful, I was thinking if you were going to use a contrasting color to the green that's so prominent on the front, you could use that as a border to tie into the back. Its a moot point now however since its off to the quilter. Hope to see pictures eventually.
