I put mine in an empty aspirin bottle with a child guard cap. I keep one bottle on my machine table and one in my sewing basket for hand needles.

Mine go into a bottle for disposal and the bottle goes into the trash....a friend of mine years ago - her husband got stuck handling trash...it was a horrible time for them...he couldn't even kiss his own wife or their kids or anything...had to get tested monthly as well...

I keep my in an old medicine bottle and throw away when full. My DIL adopted 2 cats who were found in the "dump", so I don't want anyone or anything to be injured.

My 'trash' collector service includes a notice on their billing that reads: DUE TO LIABILITY & SAFETY CONCERNS, WE ASK THAT YOU WOULD PUT ALL NEEDLES INTO A PLASTIC CONTAINER & EMPTY OUT PILLS FROM THE BOTTLE INTO THE TRASH TO ENSURE PROPER DISPOSAL.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

    That was interesting.

Into my sewing trash can. So special treatment or observances.

I put mine in a pill container along with old pins then throw that in the trash when full. I worked for Waste Management for years as the Public Relations Coordinator for a landfill. I spent a lot of time both at the working face and our recycling transfer station. There is a small risk of sharps in a modern landfill but a much larger risk at the recycling plants. That is still very labor intensive and requires a lot of hand sorting. It is also amazing the paper that is put in the recycling bin - credit card statements, social security numbers, etc. After seeing that I bought a shredder.

Thank you for asking about this. I have to admit to ignorance in how I was just throwing mine in the trash. I'm grabbing an old pill bottle to use from here on out.
It's all fun and games until the bobbin runs out.
