Re: Ohio Star block HELP!
Starting with the easiest part of the block -
cut 5 - 6 1/2" squares (unfinished center square and four corner squares.)
Using the following method for making flying geese units -
http://www.connectingthreads.com/tut...st-two_methods
The unfinished size of the four flying geese units is 6 1/2" tall by 12 1/2" wide. Cut one rectangle 6 1/2" x 12 1/2" and two squares that each measure 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Hope this helps! Good luck!
Re: Ohio Star block HELP!
I forgot to mention that you will need 4 of those flying geese units.

Re: Ohio Star block HELP!
Ok the instructions I have are as followed.
Cut the following:
Center Square 4 1/2" sq
Triangles around the center 5 1/4" sq
Star Points (2) 5 1/4" sq
Light Triangles (4 corners) (2) 4 1/4" sq
Background (1) 5 1/4"sq. (2) 4 7/8" sq
I want to make a king quilt with this Ohio Star in the center but larger. The finish Block will mesaure (12 1/2") I want to make it double so how do I go about making it larger? Do I double the cutting measurements? What if I want it triple? Etc?
Thanks Again for your help.
Aaron

Re: Ohio Star block HELP!
You know, Aaron, I have no real clue here. I guess I could work it out someway - never having done something like that before - but if I were doing this I'd get a couple old shirts or some scrap fabric and 'wing it' to see what would work.
