Mixing fabric types
Just wondering if anyone knows how mixing two types of fabric would work.
I made a quilt (lap quilt size) all out of 100% cotton and thought I would simply find a plain old cotton backing and have it quilted.
Then I discovered a huge piece of flannel in my stash - and now I'm wondering if I could use that as a backing. (It has a great little print of bees buzzing around on it - which would go nicely with the woodsy cotton fabrics on the quilt top. Flannel would also make the quilt softer and more 'wrap-able' (is that a word?
)
I suppose anything is possible - but I don't want to find out later when it is washed, etc. that it is not a good match.
Thanks - I'd appreciate any comments or advice if anyone has attempted to put these two fabrics together.
