I don't know what is wrong with my sewing machine the upper thread is jaming up in the bobbin case. I have been looking at youtub to try and fingure it out. Do you think maybe I need a new bobbin case?
In cases where I can't find a quick fix, I always take the top thread and bobbin out, clean up fuzzies I can see, then start from scratch threading the machine and winding a new bobbin. Most times that's all it needed.
Try taking your bobbin holder out completely and cleaning the race. There may be a big pile up of lint and fluff that you can't see. It can cause all sorts of problems if it is that.
when you clean out the bobbin case get a childs paint brush, long and skinny, and get down in all the crevices. Then like suggested above rethread everything from the start.
It could also be that the timing has been knocked out of sequence ..
I had the exact same thing happen to my machine. I did the cleaning thing, changed the needle, put a newly wound bobbin, and rethreaded. Still had the same problem. I had to take it in, and it took them five weeks to fix because of their workload. Good luck on yours!
I sure wish the manufacturers would put a little door at the bottom under the needle area to make it easier to see and remove lint. It is difficult to find it all looking into the bobbin area. I guess they don't so the mechanics will have something to do.
Thanks for all your help I have cleaned and re- did the upper and lower threads with no luck.
Did you take off your throat plate so you could get all down under there? If you haven't, try that...it could just be a bunch of lint that you can't see unless you take that off.
I had a similar problem, and when I took the throat plate off found a gigantic dust bunny. That solved my problem.
My bobbin case had a burr in it from a needle hitting it. It was plastic. We filed it is smooth and that worked for a while but ended up replacing it.
Oh, that's a shame. So sorry I couldn't help.
I keep at my sewing desk an inexpensive set of cosmetic brushes.
Boy do those things find lint and furballs. (and I don't have a cat)
I found a hole in the bobbin case it is plastic so I went and ordered another one won't be in until next Thursday. I will see if that is the problem if not then I will take my sewing machine in and have it checked out. I was so close to finishing my second quilt. I guess I will get my yarn out and work on my afghan I have been putting off. Once again thanks for all your help.
