    Default Quilter's shorthand

    Just curious about all the abbreviations. Is there a cheat sheet around for those that have no idea what you mean? I figured out some, but there must be others as well who have no idea what DH or DD mean. Not to mention all the others....DH I assume is dear husband or is it dumb husband...LOL

    I thought DD was short for Darn Dimwit. Is it male bashing if a male is the one doing it? LOL

    (If all the pieces fit perfectly, people will think it was made by a machine!) LOL

    A triangle that is half of a square. There are different size triangles in quilting, but this is the most common.

    She wasn't asking what a HST was, she was posting a link to another page that has a list of abbreviations.

    Some of the ones I have figured out are these, (at least I THINK this is what they mean!?)

    DH = Darling Husband, Dear Husband, Dumb Husband, Dingbat Husband (you get the idea), when I write it, I mean Darling Husband.
    DD = Daily Deal at M*QC [Missouri Star Quilt Company] or DD= Darling Daughter.
    DS = Darling Son
    SIL = Son in law or Sister in law
    MIL= Mother in law or Monster in law [mine is sweet so no monster there]
    DIL = Daughter in law
    IMHO= In my humble opinion
    BTW= by the way

    LQS - local quilt shop
    SID or SITD - stitch in the ditch
    UFO - Unfinished Object
    PHD - Project Half Done - I like this one better than UFO
