There are so many, not sure about best ... Leah Day comes to mind, but then she shows you on small sandwiches, not full sized quilts. I watched what I could find, read what I could find and finally just said "I've got to try it to learn." I think one of the best things I did that really gave me the confidence to finally put one of my quilt tops at risk was to sandwich about a yard or yard and a half of fabric with batting and an old sheet, a good sized sandwich to work with and just go for it. I was able to learn on a larger piece, feel what it was like to shove more than a placemat size piece of fabric through my machine, etc. The bonus - my dogs have a new quilt that they love.
