Re: Hexagon quilt finish?
My daughter just finished her hexie top and is ready to sandwich. She added navy blue to even out the sides then cut edges straight and added a 3" border. I liked the idea of adding the border because it framed the hexies.
Your top is beautiful.

That is so beautiful. I'm not sure I'll ever have the patience to make one like it. Great job and the colors are great.
Re: Hexagon quilt finish?
Anna I've been waiting to see this and it's absolutely beautiful! No matter how you border it I think it will be amazing. I would personally try and keep the front unique and maybe try and use different grey fabrics for the half hexagons in the same color range. Although like I said no matter how you finish it off it will be amazing :)

That looks great, really stunning! Thanks for the idea. :)
I'm not sure how many hexagons are in my quilt, I think 1500ish? I'll count them, some day. :D

Re: Hexagon quilt finish?
In awe. Congratulations!! Multi-fabric quilts are my favorite and this takes the cake!! What about a polka dot border? If you could find a hexi-polka dot pattern that could be interesting. The dots would have to be small enough to read solid at a distance but might give the look a little transition with all the fabric patterns in the quilt. I could stare at your quilt for hours. Very cool!!

Now there's an idea! A hexagon polkadot? Hm hm hm. :)

Anna, your quilt is/will be absolutely stunning!
Re: Hexagon quilt finish?
Beautiful. Grey would be pretty. A black border might make all of those hexies sparkle like jewels.
