    Default Squaring up

Do you square up your quilt top before you add a border?

I make sure the corners are square but normally I don't need to square up the sides.

Nope! I figure if my blocks are square there should be no need for squaring up before adding the borders. Sometimes I do a bit of squaring up at the corners but only after the border has been attached.

Having just put on borders today, I can tell you that I did square up the corners and then evened up the sides before attaching the border. After the borders are on when I am ready to quilt, I square up the corners again, and the sides if they are wonky, which they usually are not. I want the corners square so my binding miters will work well.

I square up everything. Yes, I square the corners before adding borders. I also check the top, bottom & sides to make sure they're even. After I've added the border(s) I'll square again. JCY
