Hi Bob,
I have a pinking blade for my cutter but it's more of a rounded shallow scallop than sharp points. I use mine whenever I sew fabric together to make backing for a quilt. I sew a wide seam and trim it with the 'pinking' blade. I know I would have trouble making accurate seams with the edge mine cuts. If it works for you, go with it.
