    Default Ready set…ummm…stop!!

Okay all..I have got going and have two squares and now I think I need to regroup again!!!

I'm doing the Magic Square Quilt w/ Jenny's Tut ( I thought) LOL

Attached a picture of one of my Squares and as you can see the jelly roll border did not do what I thought it would. In the corners there are two little pieces that came over to the other edge…I sewed the two sides on the 10inch layer cake and then pressed it ..put it back on the cutting table and measured the other two sides and cut them..so now I know this can't be this hard but I think I'm having a little hormone brain this morning..
if any of you can help me figure this out I would so appreciate any helpThanks so much

I was going to make this quilt and even bought the Lemon tree line from the tute. When I got it, it was just way to much yellow for me.

Show pictures when your done. I would love to see what it looks like in different fabrics.

This was the last one I made, but it was almost two years ago. I see that you didn't use the same jelly roll around the square. I think the magic square suggests to sash each block completely with one fabric, then overlay one block with another cut and sew ( or sew and cut, can't remember!). Then that little corner won't matter.

One problem I found with doing this with layer cake squares is that you need more than one jelly roll strip to sash each 10" square ( you need 2 10" strips and 2 13.5" strips which is longer than a jelly roll strip). So I cut my squares smaller, so I could get the one jelly roll strip to sash one block. Plus I thought the 10" square made a pretty floppy block. I think the one I pictured used a 8" block, which I had cut from yardage. Just something to think about.

    Good luck with your project!

Beautiful Jean! And thanks for sharing your tips! I'm going to be real careful choosing my fabrics next time.

That was my original intent also, to use Lemon Tree! Sadly, it sits in. Project box in my closet, pushed way to the bottom of the "to-do" list!
