A question for all of you great quilters....what length stitch do you use when you quilt your quilts with your walking foot? Mine seem so small and when I look at pictures on quilt blogs they seem longer. What do you use?

For piecing I usually use a 2 or 2.5, for straight line quilting I normally set my machine on about 3.5 or maybe 4.
I think if you get 8 to 10 stitches per inch that is a good length for machine quilting.

I usually set mine about 3.5 to 4.5 depending on how thick my sandwich is

Oh what a good question! After having ripped out three perimeters of Very Tight straight line and decorative quilting, I need to adjust my stitch length from where it is when I piece, to something a bit looser for when I quilt.

For me, it's all about Love, . . . Always!
I always set it to 3

My machine likes the number 3. the quilting goes much faster and easier with a longer stitch for straight line quilting. Hope this helps you "loosen" up a bit and have fun with this stage of your creation..
I like 3 also, hate ripping anything smaller and that usually seems to be part of every project!
I also use 3.
Do a test, make a small sandwich, then set the stitch length to 2, then 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, and finally 5.
Look at them and see which one you like best.

Well, I have been using a 2.5, but after reading this thread I guess I should bump it up to 3! It would make it quite a bit easier to rip out since I always seem to manage to make a mistake!

I use 3 or 3.5 on mine.
