How would this block look in different solids . I like this block but for some reason I never use black. What does everyone think.

I don't see a block or tut...so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Can you post a link or a picture?

Interesting! I don't care for all the black, and the tan squares hardly show up, but this tut gives us another option for the Disappearing Pinwheel. That Jenny, just keeps coming up with great ideas! JCY
It would be pretty with other colors. Any combination of two would be nice, or you could even make it scrappy with a different color in each pinwheel.
I think sashing would look good with it too.

It is your quilt, so it in whatever colors you want. Sashing would be fine too. I am not crazy about the light blocks in the new tut.

I think it would look good with a dark and than a lighter version of whatever color you chose; not as light as in the tut. That way you could see the lighter blocks a little better. Make sense? Yesterday I decided not to try the original block after reading everyone's problems with it, but maybe I will give it a try since I have some fabric that I could "waste" if they came out wrong. Curiosity got to me I guess. I actually like these blocks!
