I measured mine and they are 2 1/2" to 2 5/8" tall and about the same diameter as the entire plastic dealie of the Coats& Clark 450 Yd spool.
I have mine on a JuneTaylor thread rack, and they do just fine.
As for the bobbins, I'll either mark the clear plastic with the sharpie marker with the name/number and store it in my bobbin tower, or store the bobbin on the peg under the spool. The dowels aren't long enough to poke up through the spool to catch the bobbin at the top.

I've been pleased with their thread so far, and more importantly, my machine likes it. The price certainly makes it hard to argue with sweeping out the fuzz a little more often.

Best wishes on getting it all organized! It is a great way to start out the new year!

P.S. I have found their fabrics to be nice too. Way better than most of J's & very comparable to the LQS in quality.
