    Default Baby quilt border help!

I'm making a baby quilt for a co-worker for her to give to her god daughter's first baby due sometime this spring. I put together a simple tumbler block quilt top with "A is for..." charm pack I got as a DD a while back. I think it needs a border, and I found a really cute fabric at JoAnn's that would work colorwise. But does it work overall? Here it is "auditioned" with the assembled blocks (that was quick to sew!)

It's darling fabric. I'm not sure if I'm seeing the colors as they really are, the picture looks dark. I think it goes OK.

I love the fabric, but for border.........I think I would go for a yellow kind of tone on tone fabric.
The charmpack has a different theme going on.....sorry.........

This is what I think, if you like the cute green fabric, go for it!!

That quilt is going to be adorable!

I would put a narrow plain border first choosing a color from the tumblers then use that cute fabric for a larger border.

I really like the fabric you have chosen for the border. If you want to really set it off, why not consider a solid color thin border in between the tumblers and the owls? I do think that would help pull it off to each fabric's advantage.
Good work! Always like to see what folks do with the DD's.

I agree with Vonnie! A smaller width light border would define the prints......

I like it! I agree on the second border. Black would be my choice because it's in the charms and little animals.

I was originally trying to find a yellow fabric that would go with the charm pack as a border, and it was so hard to find the shade of yellow that would match! This yellow is kind of a mustard, and I guess that is not popular this season. This closest thing I could find was a lemon crackle, which has no real pattern. Maybe I could use that as a thin inner border as other have said? The charm pack does have a different theme going on, which made me wonder if the border material would be too much of a departure. I'm really bad at choosing complementary patterns and flower arranging!
