The Big Star (Jenny's tutorial) would look great in red, white and blue! Or there is also her tube pattern that works very well with three colors!

I love the eagle in Star Spangled Favorites by Quilt in a Day: Star Spangled Favorites - Quilt in a Day Books

I have made the eagle before and it's not hard. You could have it as the center block and then add the star block around it till you have the size you want.

I think this one would look even better as a scrappy quilt. I've had this top done for moths and at this point I am hoping to have it done by July.

Edit: I forgot to add, this is a single irish chain with piano key border.
Not getting much sewing done lately. #Parenting

I like them all. Im not an advanced quilter so Im looking for an easy quilt that LOOKS complicated lol. My least favorite part is the cutting out so the less cuts I have to make the better LOL....and I dont have precuts. ugh! Ive been buying yardage for a year or so......but Im a nursing home supervisor so I think Im going to make a wall hanging...but I will most likely have enough for a quilt too....here's what Im looking to start on today.....

I'm getting ready to work on a quilt for my nephew in Red White (cream) & Blue. I'm thinking of maybe using the Planet Patchwork Mystery - but it's a lot of HST, maybe not good for a beginner who's just learning.

I've done a couple of quilts for soldiers now - one was Fourth of July - a Bonnie Hunter Free Pattern and the QOV 10th Anniversary Block You can see pictures in my Quilts for Soldiers album. I tend to shy away from quilts that look like flags though - something creepy about seeing a soldier sleeping under a flag.

i never thought about that kathy that IS creepy....i want to make a flag wall hanging for the nursing home. I decided for my QUILT im gonna spend today cutting my stash in 2-1/2 strips for the intention of making the 3 DUDES quilt. It looks so fun and easy and you can flip flop them any way!!!! Ill post pics as I go....(if I can figure out how)
