    Default DWR quilt question....

My DD is sewing her DWR blocks together and asked how to iron the seams. I originally said to iron one row one way and the next row the opposite way so that the seams would nest when she sewed the rows together. Is this right? Or, should she just iron the seams open? Thoughts?

I always press the way you described first, alternating direction each row. I've tried pressing open but wasn't very successful matching seams, and at the end of the day, you are still stitching over the same amount of fabric whichever method you use.
Edited to add, I don't know what DWR is, maybe that might make a difference?

Thanks, yeehawterri, that's what I thought too. DWR is double wedding ring. It's her first quilt & she's making it for her college roomate's wedding in July. The rings are from the Lovely collection on the Kona snow background-would the light background make a difference?

Sounds beautiful. I would do the way you said first.

The only problem I've had with lighter background is that occasional dark thread that seems to hop in the way. I know the DWR is very involved, so I might not be the one to give an answer on this one!
