Pattern ?

Does anyone recognize this pattern? At first I thought it was log cabin but each large block is set on point and made from 1" or 1 1/2" blocks I love the way the colors are graduated and then the center pops to give the affect of a cross.

It doesn't look difficult but haven't been quilting long enough to figure out where to start. Any help is deeply appreciated.

I tried downloading your pic to get a better look, but it is too blurry when blown up to see the pattern for sure, but I agree with Mary that it is a chain of some sort. It is definitely worth taking a closer look, as it is beautiful!

I agree, I did some enlargement and it looks like all squares sewn together.. started with a red square in the center and then set on point. I bet a jelly roll against your layer cake that it is really an easy pattern if we could get a CLOSE up picture of it.

it looks looks like a number of "Trip around the World" blocks but I think this one is done like a Bargello with strips sewn into tubes in multiple sections.

I think you may find it as "Many trips around the World". I just Googled it and came across similar images and each sections is a square with pieces sewn in a diagonal direction. I"m still looking!!!!
