    Default Quilting Waves

I'm working on a quilt for my dh. I have it sandwiched and ready to quilt and was thinking about doing waves using my walking foot. Should I always start from the same side of the quilt or alternate sides?

I think I would alternate sides. Always starting from the same side might warp the quilt to one side.

If it's a small quilt I can see alternating. What if it's a large quilt?

I think I would alternate. I believe it keeps the quilt in better shape. I would also start from the center and do the top first and then the bottom section for the same reason.

That's the way I quilt my jelly roll quilts and recently a star quilt. I have started in the middle and worked out from there. Opposite direction with each row of stitching on half at a time. I use a lot of spray basting and have not had any problems with slippage or distortion during or after quilting/washing.
