Re: Question for Star Lover
If you specifically want StarLover to answer your question, or have her see it a bit faster, you can send her a Private Message by clicking on her name and then clicking Private Message in the menu box that appears.
I'm not sure which thread you posted in previously, so not real sure about what you are asking.
Re: Question for Star Lover
I think it might be this thread.

I don't think you need a templet for it. It's just cut in half on an angle. Did that help?
This would be really cute with a charm pack. Hummm
Re: Question for Star Lover
Hi Janice. This was a simple quilt to make, I think you'll have fun with it. The pattern is called Against the Rail by Karly Alexander of Saginaw street quilt company.
Straight Out of Line ruler is what was used for this quilt. I found it in my local store, but when I tried to google this is the only place that showed up...

Creative Grids Straight Out Of Line 6in x 10in Ruler By Alexander, Karla
There's a product video that shows how to use the ruler.
I looked in the store listings here and didn't see it.
If you need any more help, let me know or send a message.
Re: Question for Star Lover
The quilt could be made without this ruler, but you'd probably have to tape a diagonal line across your square ruler to get all the angles to match.
Much easier with the straight out of line one.
It has the normal markings for different sizes, so you could make it with anything from charm packs on up to 10 inch layer cakes.
Re: Question for Star Lover
After seeing that ruler, reminds me of a block I did for the BQ3 pattern.
If it was me, I would take 2 layer cake squares, place one on top of the other, measure in 4" from the top left and 4" from the bottom right and cut using a long ruler. And swap the cut pieces around. That's how I did it for the BQ3 pattern - did not need a special ruler. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...99.Up2dVKtriQU
Re: Question for Star Lover
One more thought, I made this after a friend had done one with a beautiful line of bird fabrics. Mine was bright and fun, hers was more of a calming and beautiful look. Lots of different prints would do well with it.
Re: Question for Star Lover
Just a thought, if you have the large tumbler template, line the center of the template up with the left side of the layer cake and cut it.
Re: Question for Star Lover
Great idea Vonnie, I loved that the blocks only had one cut each in this quilt!
Re: Question for Star Lover
