Default Recipient is allergic to pets

Sorry, posted this in the wrong forum!

I want to make a quilt for my cousin, but she is allergic to pets. I have a cat and my longarmer has dogs. Should I wash the quilt or dry clean it before I give it to her? Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Wash it and immediately put it in a plastic bag straight out of the dryer.

Then when she gets it she can give it a spin in the dryer too.
