What if you cut down and then sash the embroidery blocks? From the pic (which is stunning btw), it looks like you would have room to trim those blocks and then do a narrow sashing. Or do a different setting, so that they are offset and don't have to be the same size? It might not be the look you were going for, but I like the blocks that you have already done as well as the embroidered ones!

They were a gift from a very dear friend. Now I really do want to make a nice quilt out of it and lately I have been obsessed with black....?....and I had the exact same red that is in the embroidery.Quote:

You could make a nine patch using 2.5" squares then border with 2.5" strips then trim to 9.5
