That is a tough one Alana! But WOW so beautiful!

Since each block is made from 3 smaller blocks, and you only need 1/2" overall smaller, maybe try just shaving 1/8" off each square and rectangle before you sew them?

for this one you could try trimming the corner half square triangles down a quarter of an inch, and redo the remaining pink rectangle pieces. Keep the white star measurements the same, but make the pink pieces 1/4 inch shorter, subtracting from the long side instead of short. Would that work?

That would be 2 1/2 by 4 1/4 pieces of color 1, white pieces would all be the same, and so would the triangles. Just cut the triangles to 4 1/4 instead of 4 1/2

I've thought of that too. I am going to try sewing them together and see what happens. Otherwise I will just go with a different 9 inch and cut my embroidered blocks down to fit a 9 inch finished size.
The 1/8" may work too. I'll get back to you....
    Thanks for all your help.

I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

just do a framed nine patch. And trim the frame part till it meets your requirements.

Oh wait - how about an hour glass or quarter square triangle block? Just make it large then trim down and it will form a secondary pattern when alternated with your embroidered blocks.

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
