Lost quilt pattern
Posted a picture of quilt made with the pattern I lost. It is a vintage quilt, I make tops and store them until needed and then make a quilt. My last top was needed and when I went to get the pattern to make more, it is not there. We did move and had a lot of help packing, so it may still be stored in a box somewhere. But I make these quilts for when someone is in need of a bit of hope. I think of them as spring tulips because they make me think of spring when flowers burst from their long sleep to burst in to lovely colors. It give hope that spring will come again and once again life is renewed. I hope someone know this pattern and will be kind enough to share or will let me purchase a copy of the pattern.
Thank you

Re: Lost quilt pattern
This is a beautiful pattern/quilt, which is so very inspiring.
I do not have the pattern, but take a closer look at it, you can figure it out. (At least I hope so) :0
The green and white is a rectangle, just like the middle square divided by two colors. You also have the sashing with the corner stones.
There is a technique where you lay the two colors on top of each other, sew the middle, open it up and voila, half square triangles, without the hassle.
I wish I could see it closer, to see how the lighter red square is set in.
Take a look at the seams, may be this could help you how to figure the pattern out.
It is beautiful and I hope someone will find the name of the pattern, I would like to know too.
Thanks for sharing your pic.

Re: Lost quilt pattern
I've seen this pattern before. Did you google "Tulips"... I think it is a tulip.

Re: Lost quilt pattern
Hello it's me again, I got an even crazier idea!
How about the pattern starts with the light red square. You make small half square triangles in the colors of white and dark red.
Attach them to a white or dark red rectangle.
They now will be attached to the light red square. Which will form a bigger square.
Than on two sides adjacent two each other you'll attach the rectangles. (You could use the same method like to do the half square triangles).
Be glad I'm not your neighbor, I would knock on your door and try to figure it out!

Re: Lost quilt pattern
If you have made this before, you can take a block apart and make a pattern, or duplicate it by drawing out the pieces you see and adding the 1/4 inch seam allowance. I've done both.

Re: Lost quilt pattern
Email this picture to Jenny... she will be able to see in a few minutes how to reconstruct this block. LOL

Ok, here is a breakdown of the pieces you would need to make (sashing and cornerstones not included)
I'm thinking center square as a charm square, the next layer of petals would be jelly roll width and the leaves (green and white) would be 3 inches. It will take a while to figure out the measurements.
BTW, I did it this way so that there are no Y seams required to make the block.
I'm back ...
Attachment 63834
#1 - cut size 5 inch square
#2 - cut 5" by 2.5" rectangle
#3 - cut 7" by 2.5" rectangle
#4 - cut 5" by 2.5" rectangle
#5 - cut 7" by 2.5" rectangle
#6 - cut 3" by 3" square
#7 - There is no #7, just skipped it for some reason!
#8 and #9 should finish at 3" by 9". If I remember right to make these elongated half rectangle triangles you add 1/2" or 1" to the finished size. I think I'd add an inch and trim down, just to be safe.
#s10 - 2.5" finished HST - need 2 per block.
I've not made this block, so the recommendations for 8 and 9 are educated guesses. I'd suggest making a sample block before cutting out an entire quilt.
