I don't have a Featherweight, but I've used Sulky in both the upper thread and in the bobbin with no problem. I did use a different needle though. I think it was an embroidery needle, something with a larger eye to prevent breakage.

I cooked today. I made a quilt sandwich
Thanks for all the advice, guys!
I purchased the Sulky, then made a stop at my repair shop for bobbins. After speaking with my repair woman, I decided to abandon my idea for now. It's really not meant for a child's quilt, for sure.
I started ditch quilting and that wasn't going terribly well, either. Bad sewing mojo, today.
I ended up hand tying the blocks, and sewed a 1/4" inside of the outside border, for stabilization.
It looks sweet and 'old school', and will be a perfect with a stuffed Minnie Mouse, (I hope).
The binding is on, I just have to hand tack it down, launder, light press, and wrap it up with Minnie!
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....
I failed to see this was for a child's quilt and I doubt I'd use it for that either. When I used it, it was for a wall hanging I made for my mom and it worked perfect for that.
pat.
No rain....no rainbows!

My Joann's carries the sulky brand, and it worked just fine for my IQ quilt. I used superior so fine in the bobbin.
