Re: What to do with freezer paper?
I use freezer paper to wrap my cookies I bake for church. I have done this for years, especially when the kids lived at home.I would put the cookies in a baggie ( large one ) and then, wrap the baggie in freezer paper. I always wrote on the front of the package " BEEF LIVER"( so the kids wouldn't touch the package ) gee.....imagine that
I have made my own Christmas Wrap for years, using Butcher's Paper that you can get at any food service supply ( such as Gordon Food Service ....and it comes in white and brown. I then take a "christmasy" or winter rubber stamp, and stamp all over the blank paper. I then wrap the package as usual. BTW, you can also use brown paper backs. ( the inside of the bags )
I have done this with all sizes of packages. I have had some people "save" the paper.....by using it to line drawers in their home, end tables, nightstands, kitchen drawers etc.
( if you trade at a local meat market, you might be able to get some from the butcher, he might give it to you if you only want a little bit, or charge you for a larger piece, you never know.
I have also made "gift bags " from Christmas wrap, holiday magazine articles etc.
For years, I have used the comic section from the SUNDAY paper to wrap children's gifts.
If any of you are interested in seeing what this looks like, let me know, and I would be glad to take a photo and put it on this comment to show you !
